Learning Better Together: Session 1

Using classroom libraries and mother tongue materials to improve literacy outcomes in Haiti

Join the Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child (GC-DWC) for its inaugural Learning Better Together session. Through this series, we aim to create a space for Haitian educators and practitioners to gather, learn from one another, and share education resources that are relevant to the Haitian context.

This June 1st session will focus on the value of mother tongue materials in classroom libraries, and how mother tongue materials can be used to improve literacy outcomes in Haiti.

The hour-long workshop will feature demos of classroom and multimedia materials in Haitian Creole by Dr. Anasthasie Liberiste Osirus, GC-DWC, and Dr. Charlotte Cole and Suzanne Cole, Blue Butterfly Collaborative. Participants will also have the opportunity to share and receive additional mother tongue resources with fellow participants after the event.
