Monica Cozza
Monica Cozza is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Alliance for Catholic Education 23rd cohort of the Teaching Fellows program. She began her teaching journey at Our Lady Queen of Angels in New York, New York where she got to see the "Gospel of East Harlem" lived out every day through her students, fellow teachers, and administrators. During her time at OLQA, she began her journey as an O'Shaughnessy Fellow and dove deep into the world of literacy. Monica explored the role of dialogue in the ELA classroom and its impact on students' comprehension, participation, and writing. Since then, her life as a military spouse has allowed her to teach 3rd grade in Little Rock, Arkansas and middle school Social Studies in Miami, Florida, where she continued to explore the roles of literacy in the classroom. Monica then served as an Assistant Principal at St. Mary's Catholic School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she continued to grow as a leader in Catholic education. Monica currently lives in South Florida with her husband and two young children and continues to serve as a mentor to other O'Shaughnessy Fellows.
