David Sikkink
David Sikkink (Ph.D., University of North Carolina Chapel Hill) is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame. He is a fellow in the Center for the Study of Religion and Society as well as the Institute for Educational Initiatives at Notre Dame. His main research interests are in education, religion, and politics. Sikkink’s publications include work on home and religious schooling and civic participation, school sector and social capital, and pathways from religion to educational outcomes. His current work focuses on school sector effects on outcomes in the young adult years, such as bridging social capital, civic participation and political engagement, and giving and volunteering.
