Madeline Koo

Bio

Madeline Koo is a first year Teach for America Corps Member in the Greater Chicago-Northwest Indiana Region. Madeline is teaching 3rd grade ELA and Social Studies at Herzl School of Excellence in North Lawndale, Chicago. She is studying at National Louis University and working towards her master’s degree in Teaching. Madeline is dedicated towards cultivating a safe, culturally responsive, rigorous, and empowering space for her students to grow holistically and not only recognize but reach their full potential. 

Madeline is passionate and committed towards fighting for all students to receive an equitable education. She is excited to join the O’Shaughnessy Fellows this year, to both learn from and collaborate with fellow educators who share the same passion for their students and our education system. She is eager to engage in rich discussions, build community among fellow educators, and grow professionally as a teacher.
