Danielle D'Alonzo

Bio

Danielle D’Alonzo teaches sixth-grade Reading and ELA at Brooklyn Jesuit Prep Middle School. She also works as an ELA teacher for the REACH program at Regis High School. Danielle earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in teaching from Fordham’s Graduate School of Education. She pursued a justice-oriented program which specifically trained her to work towards educational equity in urban communities. Now, she can put this principle into practice in her two school settings. As a “Nativity model” school, Brooklyn Jesuit Prep exclusively serves students from low-income families. Similarly, the REACH program aims to make Catholic education accessible to students from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

Danielle is excited to contribute to the O’Shaughnessy Fellows’ research on teaching literature. She loves her students, and she strives to serve them well each day!
