Sheehan’s areas of expertise focus on applied macroeconomics and econometrics. His current research interests include the behavior of banks in particular with respect to deposit balances, the economics of sports, and the ability of school corporations to impact educational achievement at a macro level. His research has been published in the American Economic Review, the European Economic Review, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Applied Economics, Southern Economic Journal and Economic Inquiry. He also served for eight years on the South Bend school board.
