Elizabeth Covay Minor

Elizabeth Covay Minor completed her PhD in Sociology at the University of Notre Dame in May 2010. Currently, Dr. Minor is an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at National Louis University and serves as the Director for the School of Educational Leadership Studies. Prior to her position as NLU, Beth worked as the Research Director for the Michigan Consortium for Educational Research at Michigan State University evaluating the Michigan Merit Curriculum. She also was an IES Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania.  

Beth's research focuses on inequality in student opportunities to learn and how social context is related to differences in access to, returns to, and experiences within student opportunities to learn. She serves as a co-editor for the journal i.e.:inquiry in education and as a School Advisory Board Member for St. Joan of Arc School in Lisle, IL.
