Monica Kowalski awarded $10,000 grant from the Notre Dame Office of Research Initiation Grant Program
Monica Kowalski, Associate Director of Program Evaluation and Research for the Institute for Educational Initiatives and Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Notre Dame, has been awarded an Initiation Grant from the Research and Scholarship Program of Notre Dame Research. Her project, The Impact of Ohio EdChoice Expansion on Catholic Schools and Families, is a mixed method study of the implementation of the recently established universal voucher program throughout the six (arch)dioceses in the state of Ohio. Monica will be conducting surveys and focus groups with Catholic school leaders and families to understand the benefits and challenges associated with the use of vouchers for Catholic school tuition. The findings of the study could have important implications for other states as school choice policies continue to evolve across the nation.
