Pietro Pellerito
Pietro Pellerito is a graduate student in the Economics department. He graduated from Kettering University with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a minor in economics. Before entering graduate school, Pietro worked as an actuary for Willis Tower Watson where he created hospital liability estimates for medical campuses across the country. Apart from being a Burns Fellow, Pietro serves as graduate research assistant for Notre Dame’s Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO). At LEO, he assists in evaluating policies designed to increase graduation rates of students who intend on completing their high-school degrees in Goodwill Excel centers across the country. Pietro’s research interests lie in the areas of educational, public, and urban economics. He is especially interested in how school choice reforms, like Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program, impacts the demand for housing in both high and low- quality school districts.
