Camps that Explore the Living & Chemical World
The Center for STEM Education is pleased to offer 2 unique science & engineering camps:
Exploring the Living World with Anatomy & Physiology
The curriculum for this two-week camp focuses on anatomy and physiology during the first week, highlighted by multiple dissections, and discusses the engineering design cycle in the second week, with an Engineering is Elementary investigation and Rube Goldberg machine challenge.
Exploring the Chemical World
The curriculum for this two-week camp focuses on chemical investigations during the first week, highlighted by experiments and computer simulations exploring chemical phenomena & gas behavior, and discusses the engineering design cycle in the second week, with an Engineering is Elementary investigation and water filtration challenge.
Key Components of Each Camp:

Daily Hands-on Investigation

Extended Conversations about Data and Evidence for Claims

On-going Collaborative Problem-solving
After participation in the Science and Engineering camp, students showed statistically significant increases in interest of STEM topics and strong achievement gains.
