Brianna Felegi, Ph.D.

Bio

Brianna Felegi earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in May 2023 and joined the Economics Department at Virginia Tech in August 2023. During her doctoral work, she participated in Notre Dame's Program for Interdisciplinary Educational Research. Prior to Notre Dame, she attended the University of Florida and earned a bachelor's in economics with a minor in actuarial science.

Her research interests include applied microeconomics and the economics of education. She uses causal inference and quasi-experimental techniques to evaluate both the effectiveness of policies and their unintended consequences. Her current research agenda centers around evaluating policies intended to increase access to schooling. She aims to produce research that builds our understanding of how educational policies can differently impact different groups of students.
