ND Forum Panelists Probe School Challenges

The ND Forum panel discussion, "The Conversation: Developing the Schools Our Children Deserve," took place Sept. 28. Leading voices in K-12 education offered prescriptions for reforming K-12 schools, as The Observer and The South Bend Tribune reported.

Kicanas and Wendy Kopp, CEO and founder of Teach For America and Rev. Timothy R. Scully, C.S.C., at the opening of their discussion titled, “The Conversation: Developing the Schools Our Children Deserve” part of the 2011-12 Notre Dame Forum at the Leighton Concert Hall.

Two days earlier, on Sept. 26, Notre Dame welcomed former Florida governor and education reformer Jeb Bush for a talk entitled, "The Architect: Radical Education Reform for the 21st Century." He proposed new ideas and steps that Notre Dame could take, as reported in The Observer.
