Respected Irish Educator Brings ACE Experts to Dublin Radio

ACE was privileged to host Dr. Seán Delaney, an administrator and educator at the Marino Institute of Education in Dublin, during the winter of 2014 as he pursued further research at Notre Dame regarding K-12 education—and the education of Catholic school teachers—in dialogue with the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) and the Institute for Educational Initiatives. Sean, a recognized expert who hosts the “Inside Education” program on Dublin radio, conducted interviews with several pioneering ACE and IEI scholars during his latest visit in the United States. He is airing those interviews in Dublin from time to time and posting them as podcasts for a worldwide Internet audience. To date, his interviews with three distinguished fellows of the Institute have explore a range of issues, from teaching and learning to government policies influencing acess to a quality education for students from all backgrounds. Sikkink to Serve Cardus as Senior Fellow

Cardus, a think tank focused on the renewal of social architecture in North America, has announced the appointment of David Sikkink, associate professor of sociology and a fellow in Notre Dame's Institute for Educational Initiatives, to its Senior Fellows group, effective immediately. Cardus Senior Fellows comprise a network of recognized experts in a wide range of disciplines. "Through our partnership with the University of Notre Dame and the education research projects we have completed together, Cardus has come to appreciate David's breadth of expertise regarding youth and religion in North America today," said Cardus executive vice president Ray Pennings in a news announcement. Wozniak to Serve in White House Advisory Post

IEI Fellow and Associate Professor of Economics Abigail Wozniak has been appointed to a senior economist post in the White House's Council of Economic Advisers.

The CEA, with which she will serve a one year term, is the board that advises President Barack Obama and his staff on domestic and international economic policy. Read More
